The sting was just like a bee sting. A Hollywood Casino was only hit with a tiny fine of $24,000 for allowing underage players inside their casino to play slots. Anyone under 21 years of age is not allowed by law to play on slot machines. The Casino had three seperate occasions where they were caught with underage gamblers on the premises.
A 20 year old was on the slot floor for over an hour in July. August saw a 19 year old on the slot floor for 19 minutes and then an 18 year old was playing slots for over two hours. The Pennyslvania Gaming Control Board found the Casino guilty but the fine of $24,000 doesn’t look like it would have even made a mark on the Slot room floor.
You have to think how many others that are underage have walked through those Casino doors and played, won and lost on the slot machines without the staff even batting an eyelid. The age limit on gambling in the States also is a big topic with many saying you can buy a lotto ticket and fight and die for your country but you cannot walk into a Casino and put your own hard earned money in a slot machine. Something does not add up in that equation.
